Covid-19: Multi-stakeholder Advisory Council
Challenge
A global biopharmaceutical company faced challenges in ensuring that people at high risk for severe complications from COVID-19 were aware of their risk status. Many lacked preparation and action plans for potential exposure and infection. Inconsistent messaging across different outlets, coupled with misinformation and limited access to credible information, exacerbated these challenges. Additionally, ensuring healthcare providers deliver accurate information regarding risk, vaccines, timely testing, and treatment options has been difficult.
Our client sought assistance to address these gaps, enhance awareness among high-risk individuals, and equip both patients and healthcare providers to shift the conversation beyond vaccines to encompass risk management and newly available treatment options.
Our Solution
We formed a Multi-stakeholder Advisory Council featuring patient advocates, HCPs, and other health professionals to help the Client:
Promote trust and consistency in COVID information and messages to high-risk patients, their families, and caregivers.
Highlight challenges underserved populations face with stigma and disparities to help improve health equity.
Design and validate patient-centered messages that are tailored to individual patient populations and HCPs.
Co-create COVID-19 core narrative for individuals at high risk for severe COVID-19.
Formulate a dissemination strategy that ensures the COVID-19 core narrative is distributed to the targeted audience.
Benefit to Client
National COVID-19 Narrative Shift: Spearheaded a national conversation on evolving the COVID-19 narrative in 2023 and beyond.
Multidisciplinary Partnership Development: Created and maintained cross-sectoral collaboration with diverse healthcare professionals.
Strategic Relevance Promotion: Promoted strategies to keep COVID-19 measures and information relevant to patients, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
DKI DIFFERENCE
Over the past three years, DKI Health has collaborated with leading healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Patient Advocates to jointly create a position paper that shifts the narrative on COVID-19 management from solely "vaccines" to "vaccines-testing-treatments." We have worked with HCPs and individual patients to enhance HCP-patient communications through educational videos and patient stories. Additionally, we have developed country-specific COVID-19 messaging toolkits and materials tailored to local conditions. These projects were sponsored by Pfizer, with us serving as strategic advisors and relationship managers.
