Blood Cancer

The Challenge

A large pharmaceutical company aimed to demonstrate its commitment to advocacy leadership in the hematological oncology space, with several approved and investigational medicines for blood cancer.

Our client sought guidance on developing a strategy with patient advocacy organizations to better understand blood cancer patient needs and form impactful solutions with partner patient advocacy groups. Ultimately, the client aimed to improve their reputation and strengthen partnerships with advocacy organizations by jointly advancing meaningful initiatives that benefit blood cancer patients.

Our Solution

  • Conducted secondary research on blood cancer advocacy initiatives of core competitors and key patient advocacy organizations to identify gaps.

  • Mapped client’s internal blood cancer advocacy initiatives at global and regional levels via internal surveys and interviews.

  • Formulated global advocacy vision and pillar statements through workshops with company executives and leadership from top patient advocacy organizations.

  • Collaborated with patient organizations to evaluate clients’ advocacy efforts and generated ideas to enhance clients’ positive impact on blood cancer patients.

  • Developed content for and facilitated an in-person meeting with over 40+ patient advocacy organizations at the 2023 American Society of Hematology (ASH) Conference in San Diego

Benefit to Client

  • Clear Advocacy Roadmap: Client understood major unmet needs facing blood cancer patients and how they can partner with advocacy organizations on initiatives to close those gaps.

  • Strengthened Advocacy Relationships: Fortified connections with many prominent blood cancer patient advocacy organizations, enabling client to more easily partner and execute on prioritized activities.

  • Heightened Visibility as an Advocacy Leader: Demonstrated willingness to be an advocacy leader among industry competitors and highlighted a burgeoning hematological portfolio.
